About Green Feild – Agriculture & Farming in Central Delhi
It’s usually pretty loud around Gandhi Market by the time we get the shutters up at Green Feild. If you’ve ever been to Sadar Bazaar, you know how the mornings go there. We are at 5340, which isn’t too hard to find once you get into the main flow of the market. Most days start with a cup of tea from the stall nearby while we look at what needs to be moved out or sorted. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, and the walls show it. There is always someone shouting or a cart clicking past on the stones outside. It is just the way things are in this part of town. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes the shop feel a bit tight, but we just keep the fans going and deal with the people coming in. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It is mostly just stacks of stuff and us trying to keep track of where everything went. People stop by, sometimes just to ask for directions or talk about the weather before getting down to whatever they need. It’s not a quiet life here at all. We spend a lot of time just organizing the inventory so we can actually find things when someone asks. By the evening, the market gets even more packed, and we usually stay until the sun is well down. It is a lot of work but it’s our daily routine here in the bazaar. We just take it one day at a time.
