Our shop is tucked away in Kucha Tarachand in the Darya Ganj area. The address is 3250. If you know Darya Ganj, you know it’s a maze of narrow lanes and old buildings. We’ve been here for a good amount of time, surrounded by other shops and houses. We deal with clothes and fashion items, mostly stocking things that we think people around here would actually want to wear. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to fit as much stock as possible on the shelves. There’s no air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that hum all day long. We don’t have a website with fancy photos. Most people just walk in off the street because they were passing by or their neighbor told them about us. We spend the mornings unpacking new bundles of cloth and the afternoons talking to customers. It’s a very local way of doing things. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit by the door where there’s light. We aren't trying to be a big brand. We just like clothes and we like being part of the community here in Kucha Tarachand. It’s a bit noisy and dusty outside, but that’s just Darya Ganj for you. We keep the prices fair and the stacks of shirts high, and that seems to keep people coming back.
