Our workshop is over at D-96 in the Dda Flats on Mata Sundri Road. It’s basically a small space filled with all sorts of art supplies, from paints and brushes to rolls of fabric and wood scraps. It’s usually quite cluttered because we always have three or four different projects going on at the same time. We didn't set out to have a polished studio; we just needed a place to make things. Most of the day you'll hear the sound of cutting or sanding, and there’s almost always a bit of sawdust on the floor. We don't have a storefront, so people usually come directly to the flat to see what we're making or to pick up things they’ve ordered. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which helps when we need to focus on something detailed. We don't use any slick marketing language because we'd rather just show people the actual items we’ve built. Sometimes a project doesn't turn out right and we have to scrap it and start again, which can be annoying but it’s just part of the process. We buy our materials from local markets and try to keep things simple. It’s a small, family-run kind of operation where we just enjoy the work and don't worry too much about being corporate. We've been in this flat for a while and it suits our needs perfectly for the kind of crafts we do.
