If you go down Gali No 3 in Anand Parbat, you’ll find us at 17-B. It’s a rough part of town because there’s so much industrial work happening everywhere. You’ll hear the sound of metal clanging and trucks backing up all day long. We trade in steel, so our space is mostly filled with heavy beams, pipes, and sheets of metal. It’s not a clean or quiet place to work. There’s usually some grease on the floor and rust dust in the air, but that’s just the nature of the steel business. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. Instead, we have a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and take orders. Most of our day is spent loading or unloading materials and talking to the drivers who come through. It’s hard physical work, and our clothes usually get dirty by noon. We don’t put on any acts or try to sound like a big company. We’re just Aggarwal Steel Traders, and we’ve been in this alley for years. We know most of the other shop owners on the street, and we often share a cup of tea when things slow down for a minute. It’s a busy, noisy life here in Anand Parbat, but it’s what we do. We just make sure the steel gets to where it needs to go and the weights are right.
