We started Kadrabad Farmer Producer Company Limited because things were getting tough for small farmers around here. Viresh Kumar runs things from his place in Kadrabad, postcode 243634. It is mostly just a bunch of us from the village trying to figure out how to sell our crops better. There is not much to it other than hard work and making sure we all get a fair deal at the market. Some days it is mostly just sitting around the office figuring out logistics and other days we are out in the dirt. It is a lot of paperwork lately, more than we expected when we first got together. We handle different types of produce depending on the season, mostly what grows well in this soil. It is a quiet place, but we keep busy. The weather has not been great lately, so we have been talking about irrigation and how to manage the water better. Dealing with the middleman was always the big headache for us before we set this up. Now we try to handle things as a group. It is not fancy. We have a small office space at the address with Viresh. We are not trying to be some big corporate thing, just a group of neighbors looking out for each other. Sometimes we disagree on how to spend the funds, but we manage to get through it. Mostly, we just want to make sure the kids stay interested in farming so the village does not empty out. It is a slow process but we are here.
