Antpur Farmer Producer Company Limited is based right here in our village, Antpur, which is under the Bilsi block in Budaun. Shanti Devi’s place is the main point for us. In this part of Uttar Pradesh, everyone pretty much knows everyone else's business, especially when it comes to farming. We decided to form this company because we wanted to stop being at the mercy of middle men who don't understand how hard we work. It’s not easy running a business when you’re used to just digging in the dirt, but we’re learning. We keep our records in a simple way and don't spend money on things we don't need. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a room where we meet and talk. Most of the time, the real meetings happen outside anyway. We focus on the crops we know best, like wheat and whatever else grows well in the local soil. Being part of a producer company means we can buy things like fertilizer in bulk, which saves us a few rupees here and there. It adds up after a while. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just making life a little more manageable for the folks around Antpur. If you visit, you won't find any signs or posters, just people working. It’s a group effort, and we all have a say in what happens and how things are done.
