R.S.M. Senior Secondary School

The morning starts early here at R.S.M. Senior Secondary School in Mahadev Jharkhandi. Usually, one of the staff members is already at the gate by seven to make sure things are ready for the day. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood, and you can hear the local traffic starting up while we’re just getting the classrooms opened and aired out. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they’ve got a lot of history to them and plenty of student work pinned up. We spend a lot of time in the office dealing with paperwork and registers, which seems to never end. During the breaks, the noise in the hallways is pretty something, with everyone running around or standing in groups talking about their weekend. We have a small area where teachers sit to have their lunch, and there’s always someone sharing whatever they brought from home. Outside, the trees give a bit of shade, though it still gets quite hot in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, so we just open the windows wider and keep going. Most of the people around here know us because we’ve been part of this community for a good while. It’s just a regular place where we try to keep things organized and make sure the day runs without too many hiccups. By the time the final bell rings and the students head out, the building gets quiet really fast.
