Out in Bikaner, in the B-Block of Karni Nagar, you’ll find Bl Memorial And Jdblm Gurukul School. It has a long name, and sometimes people get a bit confused by it, but it’s just our local school. Karni Nagar is a decent, quiet neighborhood, which is good for a school setting. We have a mix of buildings here. Some parts are newer and some are a bit older. We call it a Gurukul, but don't expect anything out of a history book. It’s a normal school with regular classes and teachers who take their work seriously. The day starts early with the students lining up for assembly. Bikaner can be very dusty, so we are always sweeping the floors. It feels like as soon as you finish, more dust blows in from the street. The staff here are a friendly bunch. We know each other's families and often share snacks during the short break. The kids are mostly from the surrounding houses in Karni Nagar. They bring their bags and books and spend their hours here trying to figure out their lessons. We have a few trees in the compound that have finally grown tall enough to give some real shade. It's a good spot for the older boys to sit and talk. We don’t have a lot of expensive equipment, but we make do with what we have. It’s a practical place, and we just focus on the daily grind.
