Maa Spices

Maa Spices is right in the middle of the Jatni Main Market at Plot No. 302. If you are looking for us, we are right near the Haryana Shop, which is a big landmark around here. The market is always a chaotic place with bikes and carts everywhere. We focus on spices, so the air inside our shop is always very fragrant. Some people sneeze when they first walk in, but we are used to it by now. We spend our days grinding, mixing, and bagging different types of powders. It’s a manual process for the most part. We don't have big industrial machines, just some basic equipment that gets the job done. Being in Jatni means we get a lot of local foot traffic. People come in for a small packet of this or that while they are doing their other shopping. We try to keep the place as clean as we can, but with spice dust, it’s a constant battle. The shop isn't very modern; it’s got old wooden counters and shelves that have been here for years. We don't do much marketing; people just find us because they can smell the cumin and coriander from the street. It’s a hard life working in the market heat, but it’s our family business and we’ve been here for a long time. It is a practical life for us.
