The Chulhaa

We are tucked away in Kharvel Nagar, right behind the BDA Office in Sector 10. It’s a good spot in Bhubaneshwar because it’s central but also a little bit off the main loud road. We’ve been here at The Chulhaa for a few years now. The name means stove, and that’s basically what we are—a kitchen where we cook all day. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few of us in the back and someone at the front to take orders. We get a lot of people who work in the nearby offices coming in for lunch. It gets a bit crowded around 1:00 PM, and the noise level definitely goes up. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just a simple place where you can get a meal. The prep work starts pretty early in the morning so we are ready when the doors open. We try to keep things consistent so people know what they're getting every time they come back. Sometimes the supply trucks have trouble finding the back alley near the BDA office, which can be a bit of a hassle. But we manage. It’s just an honest little place in Sector 10. We don't try to be a five-star hotel; we just want to serve decent food to our neighbors. The floor is a bit uneven in the corner, but it's home to us.
