Kausalya Bricks

Kausalya Bricks is located in the Muralinagar area of Chhatrapur. It’s a spot that’s easy to get to, which helps since we have trucks coming in and out all day long. We’ve got a good-sized yard where we keep the finished bricks stacked high. It takes a lot of hands to keep this place running. We start early, usually before the sun gets too hot, to get the raw material ready. Making bricks is really about patience. You can’t rush the drying process or the firing in the kiln, or you’ll just end up with a bunch of cracked pieces. We’ve learned that over the years. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The guys here have been doing this a long time, so they know the right feel of the mud. We don't use any high-tech equipment, just the standard molds and the fire. People stop by to see what we have in stock, and we just tell them what’s ready and what needs another few days. We don't do any big advertising, we just rely on people seeing our stacks from the road. It's a rough business with all the lifting and the heat, but it feels good to see the bricks being used to build up the town. We just stay focused on our daily routine and keep the kiln going through the seasons. It’s what keeps the lights on.
