About Astha Flyash Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Bhubaneswar
Astha Flyash Bricks is tucked away in Gotalagram, right near the Post Balakati and the Bjem School. Being near the school means we have to be mindful of the morning and afternoon rushes when the kids are about. Our work involves flyash, which is a bit different from the traditional clay bricks you see elsewhere. It’s a process we’ve gotten pretty good at over the years. The yard is usually gray with the material we use, and we spend our days operating the press and stacking the finished products. It’s a solid, routine kind of life. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that; our "office" is usually just a chair under a tin roof where we keep the logs. People from all over Balakati come to us when they’re starting a new project. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in the area using what we make right here in Gotalagram. The local climate keeps us busy, especially when it’s dry and we can move things around easily. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time. We don't talk much about "visions"—we just focus on making sure the bricks are strong and the piles are ready for the next truck. It's practical work for the local building needs, and we’re glad to be part of it. If you need us, we're usually out in the yard from dawn till dusk.
