Pushp Gulkand

Our place is on Jagubhai Mistry Street, specifically at Plot No 6. We are very close to the small vegetable market here in Palitana. It is a lively spot, especially in the mornings when the farmers are bringing in their fresh greens and the noise is everywhere. Pushp Gulkand is a small family-run thing we have been doing for years. We have been in this street for a long time now. The building is simple, with a front area for customers and a back area where we handle the rose petals. We use a lot of sugar and jars, which you will see stacked up against the walls most days. It is not a fancy setup at all. The floor is old stone and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it works fine. We mostly just focus on making the gulkand like we were taught by our elders. We do not have a marketing department or anything like that. People know us because they walk past the vegetable market every day. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, and then the whole family has to jump in and help with the packing and the labels. We like the smell of the roses in the morning before the heat of the day sets in. Palitana is a good place to be, and we are happy staying right here on Jagubhai Mistry Street.
