Daksh Foods P. Ltd. is located at B-32 in the Marketing Yard at Chitra. If you’ve ever been to a marketing yard, you know it’s not a place for a quiet stroll. From four in the morning, the whole area is buzzing with trucks, carts, and people shouting out prices. Our spot at B-32 is right in the thick of it. We deal with food in bulk, so there’s always the smell of grains or spices hanging in the air. It’s a heavy environment, with a lot of lifting and moving of sacks. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to take your coat. You just walk in and find whoever isn't currently carrying a bag. Our office is just a corner partitioned off with some plywood where we keep the ledger and the phone. It’s dusty work, and our boots are always covered in something by the end of the shift. We’ve been here for a good while, and we know the other traders by their first names. We argue over space and parking, but then we share a tea when the rush dies down. It’s a rough and ready kind of life. We don’t think about branding or how we look to the outside world. We just care about the weight being right and the trucks leaving on time. That’s how business is done in Chitra, and we’re just part of that cycle.
