Golden Dalia Factory

Our factory is located at Plot No. 49 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. It’s a large area with many other units around us, but we’re the ones processing the dalia. The air inside the factory always smells like toasted wheat. It’s a heavy, earthy scent that you get used to after five minutes. We have the machines running nearly all day. They make a steady drumming sound that vibrates through the floor. It’s not a place for a quiet conversation. We spend our time monitoring the grinders and making sure the bags are filled correctly. The loading bay is always busy with sacks being moved in and out. It’s physical work, and the guys are usually covered in a fine layer of grain dust by the end of their shift. The office part of the building is just a small room with a couple of chairs and a filing cabinet. We don’t spend much time in there. Most of the action happens out on the floor. GIDC is a practical place to be, even if it’s a bit out of the way. We’ve been operating from Plot 49 for quite a while now. It’s a tough environment, especially in the summer heat, but it’s what we do. We just focus on getting the dalia ready for the market. It’s a noisy and dusty life, but it is our daily work.
