Wirdhwalpur Namami Gange Jaivik Farmer Producer Company Limited

We run Wirdhwalpur Namami Gange Jaivik Farmer Producer Company Limited from Harishankar Singh’s place. He is the son of Basantu Singh and we are based in Birdhavalpur, over in Chiurrapur near Post Baragaon. It is quite a long name, but we are just local farmers at the end of the day. Most of us have been on this same land our whole lives. We focus on organic ways because that is what we feel is right for the soil we have around here. Harishankar Singh handles the coordination and the paperwork for us. It is not a fancy setup at all. We meet up when we can to discuss the compost or the next planting cycle. Being near the Gange, we think about the water and the earth quite a bit. It is hard work and it takes a lot of patience to do things this way. We don’t use those big expensive machines much, mostly just our own hands and some basic tools. Baragaon is our main post office and everyone in the area knows Harishankar’s family. We aren't looking to get famous or grow into some huge business, just trying to grow good food and keep the land healthy. Sometimes the government paperwork gets confusing but we help each other out with it. It is a community effort more than a business in the traditional sense. We are just a group of neighbors in Birdhavalpur trying to do something useful together for our village and families.
