Our group is located in Amoi Marihan. It’s a group of farmers who decided to join up to make things a bit easier for everyone. We handle a lot of the sorting and selling that usually takes up too much time for one person to do alone. Being in Marihan means we are right in the middle of where the farming happens. It's a practical arrangement. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just what we need to get the job done. The name is a bit of a mouthful, but it represents the people behind it. Most days you’ll find someone here checking the grain or talking to the transporters. It can be a bit chaotic during harvest time, but we usually figure it out. We aren't trying to be some big city business. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off. There’s a lot of sitting around and talking about the rain or the lack of it. That’s just how it is when you work with the land. We’ve got a small office space where we keep the books. It’s nothing special, just a table and some chairs. People drop in throughout the day to see what the prices are or to drop off some paperwork. It's a community thing more than anything else. We all know each other here. Sometimes we share a meal while we work through the tasks.
