Inyatpur Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us farmers from around Fatahabad in Agra. We set things up at Genda Lal’s house in Parua Ka Bas, which is right in the heart of Inayatpur. It isn't a corporate setup at all. We just needed a way to get our produce to market without getting stuck on our own. Most of the people involved have lived here their whole lives. We know every inch of these fields and what the soil needs during the different seasons. Being near Agra means we have some decent roads, but farming is still a gamble every year. We spend a lot of time at the house talking over tea about what we should plant next and how the prices are looking at the local mandis. The name sounds a bit official, but we are just the same people you see at the market or in the village square. There are no fancy mission statements here, just a lot of talk about tractors, seeds, and the rain. We handle the paperwork ourselves, which can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but it is better than not having any control over our work. If you are looking for a big company with a lobby, you won’t find it here. We are just a bunch of neighbors in Inayatpur trying to make a living off the land and looking out for each other when the farming gets difficult and things get complicated.
