Tibet Arts

If you are walking down Fergusson College Road, you’ll find us at number 69. We are right next to the police station in Shivaji Nagar, so it’s a pretty safe spot. Tibet Arts has been around for a bit and the shop is usually full of all sorts of things. Sometimes it’s hard to even find a place to sit down because there are so many boxes and items around. We try to keep things organized but it doesn't always stay that way for long. The bells ring every time someone opens the door. It’s a small space, but we make it work. Most of the regulars know us by name. We don’t really do much advertising because people just see us when they are out shopping or going to the station. It gets quite noisy outside with the traffic and the students walking by, but inside it’s a different world. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I need a ladder just to show someone a piece of art or a cloth they liked. It’s a bit dusty occasionally, but that’s what happens when you have a lot of stock. We just handle the day-to-day stuff and talk to whoever walks in. No big plans, just keeping the shop open and seeing what the day brings. It’s a good life here on this street. We see a lot of faces and hear a lot of stories.
