Kaushalya Art Gallery

Kaushalya Art Gallery is located at 128 in Gangenahalli Phase 4. It’s a quiet space, which is exactly how we like it. We have paintings leaning against the walls and some hanging on hooks that we put up ourselves. The lighting isn't professional-grade gallery lighting; we just use some extra lamps and the natural light from the windows. We spend a lot of time rearranging the frames to see what looks best. It’s not a high-pressure environment. If you walk in, we might be in the middle of unwrapping a new piece or just sitting with a cup of tea. We don't have fancy catalogs or a front desk person in a suit. Gangenahalli Phase 4 is a residential kind of area, so we get neighbors stopping by just to see what's new. Sometimes the floorboards squeak when you walk near the back. We try to keep things simple and let the art be the main thing people look at. We aren't experts who give long speeches about meaning. We just like having these things around us. There’s a small storage room in the back where we keep the bubble wrap and empty frames. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. Being at 128 has been good for us because it’s easy for people to find once they know the turn. It’s just a plain room with a lot of color on the walls. We spend our afternoons mostly dusting the frames and talking to visitors.
