Gallery Time & Space

Gallery Time & Space is located on Lavelle Road, right at number 55. If you know Bangalore, you know this street can get pretty busy with people going to work or heading to the cafes nearby. Our place is actually quite quiet once you step inside. We have these high ceilings and big white walls where we hang whatever art we have at the time. It isn't a museum; it's just a space for people to look at things. I spend a lot of time walking around with a level making sure frames aren't crooked. Sometimes the floors creak when you walk, which is just part of the building’s character. We don't have a lot of staff, maybe just a couple of us who know where the light switches are and how to pack a painting so it doesn't break. People come in and walk around slowly, and I usually stay out of their way unless they have a question about a price or an artist. It’s a nice change from the honking cars outside. We have some plants in the corners that I forget to water sometimes, but they seem to survive. The light changes throughout the day, hitting different parts of the room. It’s a simple setup, really. We just provide the walls and the space for the art to sit for a few weeks before something new comes in.
