The Capitol

The Capitol is located at No. 3, Rajbhavan Road. It is a very central spot, right in the middle of all the government buildings and big offices. Because of where we are, we see a lot of different people, from businessmen to folks working in the nearby departments. The building itself is quite tall and looks a bit serious from the outside. Inside, it is just a regular hotel. The lobby is quite big, but the furniture has seen better days. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass doors because of all the fingerprints. The traffic on Rajbhavan Road is constant, so you can always hear a bit of a hum from the cars even when you are inside. It is a busy atmosphere. We have rooms for people staying over and some halls for events. The staff stays busy moving from one floor to another. It is not a quiet, hidden place; it is very much in the thick of things. The elevators are old and sometimes you have to wait a minute or two for them to arrive. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations, just the basics that a hotel needs to function properly. It is a practical place to stay if you have work in the city center. We just keep doing our jobs and making sure the rooms are ready for the next person who checks in. It gets the job done for most travelers.
