Nilgiris Nest

Nilgiris Nest is located at 171 Brigade Road, which is one of the busiest streets you can find around here. Being right in the middle of all that noise and foot traffic means there is never really a quiet moment. We have been here at this spot for a while, and the building itself is just a simple place for people to stay or shop. The staff stays busy with the rooms upstairs and the store part of the building. We spend a lot of time cleaning the windows because of the dust from the road and making sure the lobby doesn't get too cluttered with bags. It is a small team running the show, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to fixing a leaky tap. The stairs are a bit narrow, and the layout is what you would expect from an older building on Brigade Road. We don't have a big fancy entrance, just a door that leads you in from the sidewalk. People like being here because everything is right outside the door, but we just focus on the inside stuff. It's about keeping the beds made and the floors mopped so it feels alright when people walk in from the heat outside. We just keep our heads down and get the work done day by day. It is a lot of climbing up and down those stairs, but it keeps us fit.
