Tejas Sweets

Our shop, Tejas Sweets, is over at Lakkasandra Reay Road 41408. It is a busy spot on a busy road. The kitchen is right in the back where the stove stays on for most of the day. You can usually smell the sugar and the ghee from the sidewalk before you even see our sign. We have glass jars and metal trays lined up along the counters. It gets quite warm inside, especially during the summer months when the fans don't seem to do much. We are just local people serving the folks who live and work around Lakkasandra. Most of our customers are in a hurry, so we have to be quick with the weighing and the packing. The paper bags are always stacked high near the scale. We don't have a lot of room for people to sit around, so it is mostly a place where you grab what you need and keep moving. The floor is old stone and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. We stay open pretty late to catch the people coming back from their shifts. It is a simple life here, just making the food and seeing the regulars. Sometimes we run out of things before the day is over, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow morning. That is just how it goes at our place.
