Swethamber Arts

Our place is tucked away at 8E on the 3rd Cross of Magadi Main Road. If you know Magadi Road, you know it's a very long stretch with lots of different shops and businesses. Swethamber Arts is where we do our daily work. It’s more of a workshop than a gallery, really. We have stuff laid out on tables and leaning against the walls in no particular order. It’s not very organized, but that’s just how art and craft go sometimes when you are busy. There is usually dust from whatever we are working on, and the floor needs a good sweep most days. I spend my time here dealing with different materials and trying to get things to look right for the people who order them. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website to show off. Most people find us by just walking down the 3rd Cross or through word of mouth from neighbors. The light comes in through the front door in the morning, which is the best time to get the real work done. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it’s a quiet enough corner compared to the noise of the main road. I’ve got some old wooden stools for people to sit on if they want to talk about a specific project. We aren't trying to be some high-class studio. It’s just a place where things get made by hand. Sometimes we run out of supplies and have to wait.
