Surya Lakshmi Fruits

Surya Lakshmi Fruits is right in the middle of 6th Block on 10 E Main. If you live in Electronic City, you've probably passed by us. We mostly deal with whatever is in season. Right now, the oranges look good, but the mangoes will be coming soon. We get deliveries early in the morning when it's still quiet outside. The crates can be heavy. Sometimes the floor is a bit sticky from a broken melon or something, but we sweep up when we can. It’s not a supermarket. It’s just a shop with fruit in bins and boxes. We know which farms have the better stuff this week. The 6th Block area is usually crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is getting off work. We see the same faces every day. Some people just come for a few bananas on their way home. We keep the scales on the counter. They’re old but they work fine. We don't spend money on fancy displays or lighting. The fruit speaks for itself anyway. Sometimes we have a few bruised pieces we sell for cheap or just give away. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets really busy. It’s hard work, standing all day, but it’s what we know. We’ve been at this location for a long time. It can get hot in the afternoons but we have a small fan in the corner that helps.
