Sri Sai Baba Stores

Our store is at number 58 on the 5th Cross of Sampige Road in Malleshwaram. This part of the area has a very particular feel to it, especially with all the old trees and the smell of jasmine from the flower sellers nearby. We have been part of this street for a long time. The shop is not very wide, but it goes back quite a way. We keep the shelves stocked with all the usual things people need for their homes. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us since they were kids. They know our names and we know theirs. It is a very personal way of doing things. We do not have any fancy computer systems for the billing; we still use the old notebooks and a simple calculator most of the time. It works for us. The wooden doors are a bit heavy to pull shut at night, and the floor tiles are the old-fashioned kind. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once, but nobody seems to mind the wait. We talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while we pack up the bags. It is not a high-speed business. We take our time and make sure everything is right. It is just a neighborhood store that has stayed the same while the rest of the city gets taller and faster around us.
