Dinesh Plantain Commission Mundy

Dinesh Plantain Commission Mundy is located right in Binnypet, very close to the banana market. As you can imagine, our whole world revolves around plantains. We spend our days surrounded by bunches of them in different stages of ripening. Being near the market means things start very early, often before the sun is even up. There is a lot of shouting and moving trucks around during those hours. It is a bit chaotic, but that’s just how the market works. Our space is basically a big warehouse area where we sort through the stock that comes in. It’s dusty and can get quite warm in the afternoons. We don't have air conditioning or fancy desks. We mostly just stand around or sit on crates while we talk to the farmers and the buyers. It’s a tough business because the fruit doesn't wait for anyone. You have to move it fast. We’ve been in Binnypet for a long time, so we know most of the regulars. We don't really do any marketing or have a website. People just know where we are. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn until late. We just focus on the loads coming in and making sure they get where they need to go. That’s the life of a commission mundy, nothing more to it. It is just the way we do things here.
