Srm Adilakshmi Flower Stall

SKR Market is a loud place to work, especially on Silver Jubilee Park Road. My stall is B-57, and it’s tucked in with all the others. Srm Adilakshmi Flower Stall is where I spend most of my life. It’s a tight space filled with the smell of marigolds and wet earth. Every morning is a rush to get the fresh stock unpacked before the crowds start coming through the market. My shoes are always damp from the water we spray on the petals to keep them from drying out. We don't have any big signs or fancy lighting. It’s just me and occasionally my cousin helping out when things get too busy. We use old newspapers to wrap the bundles for customers. People in this part of town are usually in a hurry, so we have to be quick with our hands. I’ve seen many businesses come and go on this road, but the flower market stays the same. The floor is covered in discarded leaves and broken stems by noon. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly. I don't spend money on marketing or anything like that because everyone around here already knows where we are. We just focus on getting the flowers out the door. Some days the heat is bad and the flowers wilt faster than I’d like. That’s just the way it goes. You take the good days with the bad ones and keep the stall open.
