Sri Venkatesh Rao Friuts

We've been selling fruit here at Kumbarpet for quite some time now. You can find us at Dolphin Estate, shop number 19. It’s a lively area, always something going on. We get our stock early in the morning, usually while most people are still sleeping. The crates come in and we spend the first few hours just sorting through everything to make sure it’s okay to sell. We have the usual stuff like apples and bananas, but what we get depends on the season really. If it's mango season, the whole place smells great. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights, just the wooden crates and some scales. People from the neighborhood stop by on their way home to grab a bag of oranges or whatever looks good that day. My family has been doing this kind of work for a long time. It’s hard work, lifting heavy boxes and staying on your feet all day, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be a supermarket. It’s just a local fruit stall where you get what you see. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, either too hot or too much rain, but we stay open regardless. If you’re walking through Dolphin Estate, you’ll see us there with the piles of fruit. We just try to keep things simple and honest for everyone who shops with us.
