Sri Sapthanga Natyakala Academy

Our academy is over in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, right near the Sunrays Shop. RT Nagar is a lively place to be, and there is always something happening on the street. We focus on dance and movement here. The space is mostly open so there is enough room for everyone to move around without bumping into each other. You can often hear the rhythm of feet hitting the floor throughout the day. We have some large mirrors on the walls and a simple sound system that we use for the music. It is not a fancy studio with high-end decor. It is just a practical place for people who want to learn Natyakala. The Sunrays Shop is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. We spend many hours each week practicing the same steps and making sure the timing is right. There is a lot of sweat and hard work involved, especially when it gets warm inside. We have a small area where students leave their shoes before coming onto the dance floor. The neighborhood has a lot of small shops and cafes, so there is always a bit of a buzz outside. We have been part of this community for a while, and it is a very local, down-to-earth kind of place. We just focus on the art and the students who come through the door.
