Yakshamitra Koota(Yakshagana Team)

Yakshamitra Koota(Yakshagana Team) is based right in the heart of Bangalore, specifically the 560001 area. We are a bunch of people who really enjoy Yakshagana and decided to form this team. It is not a big company or anything fancy like that. We just gather together to practice and perform when we can. Bangalore is a big city, but being in the central part makes it easier for everyone to meet up. Sometimes we struggle with finding enough space for all our gear and costumes, but we manage. Most of us have other jobs during the day, so this is what we do in our spare time. We have been around for a bit, just doing our thing. It is hard work getting the makeup and the dances right, but we like the challenge. You might have seen us around or heard of us if you follow the local cultural scene. We don't have a glossy brochure or a big marketing team. It is just us and our love for the art form. Sometimes things are a bit disorganized, but that is part of being a local team. We try to keep the traditions alive in our own way. It is a lot of late nights and early mornings for the team members involved. We just keep going because we enjoy the process.
