About Sri Balaji Art Center – Art & Craft in Bengaluru
We have been here on Telegraph Street in Koramangala for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot, but inside the shop, things are a bit quieter. Most days you’ll find us surrounded by frames and different types of paper. People come in with old photos that are falling apart or new paintings they just finished. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and making sure the glass fits right. It’s dusty work sometimes, especially when we are cutting wood for the frames, but it feels good to see something finished. The shop isn't fancy. There are stacks of material in the corners and the smell of glue is always around. We’ve known some of the people who walk through that door for years. They stop by to talk about art or just to see what’s new in the window. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, but we just keep working. We aren't a big corporation or anything like that, just a small team trying to do things properly. If you walk past 113, you’ll see us there. There’s always something to be glued or adjusted. We don't have a big fancy website or anything. We just focus on the work on the table. It’s a simple way to spend the day, really. Just us, the tools, and whatever project someone brings in. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the shop gets a bit messy when we are busy.
