Shesheer Ice Cream Parlour

Setting up shop here on Triveni Road in Doorvani Nagar was a bit of a gamble back when we started. Number 51 is where we are. It’s a quiet enough area most mornings, but the afternoons get incredibly hot and that’s when we get busy. We sell ice cream, obviously. People come in after their work shifts or when the local school lets out for the day. The kids are usually the loudest ones, arguing over what flavor they want. We have a few old freezers that hum all day and some chairs that have definitely seen better days. It’s a small place. I spend a lot of my time cleaning the glass displays because of all the fingerprints. It feels like a lot of constant wiping. We have the usual flavors, nothing too crazy or experimental. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to worry about the stock melting, but that’s just part of running a business in this part of town. The neighbors are nice and we know the regulars by their orders mostly. One guy comes in every single Tuesday for a plain vanilla scoop. Triveni Road can get pretty busy with scooters and bikes during the rush hour. We just stay open until late in the evening. It’s not a big corporate chain or anything like that. Just Shesheer. It’s just me and a couple of helpers. We try to keep the place as cool as possible. The light outside flickers a bit in the rain. I’ll fix it eventually.
