Shastry Ice Cream

Shastry Ice Cream is tucked away in the Ghanshyam Shopping Centre in Nagawara, right beside Keyur Park on the Nikol Naroda Road. At number 140, we see a lot of people walking by after they finish their grocery shopping or when they are just out for a stroll in the park. The shop is a bit small, and when more than five people come in at once, it starts to feel a little cramped. We have been here for a few years, and the routine is pretty much the same every day. We open up, check the temperatures in the cooling units, and wait for the first customer. It usually stays quiet until the late afternoon. Then, the families start showing up, and things get busy until we close at night. The floor gets a little sticky sometimes, but we try our best to mop it down when there is a break in the crowd. Our signs are a bit faded from the sun hitting them all day, but they still tell you what we have on offer. We don't have any of those automated machines; everything is done by hand here. The staff mostly keeps to themselves, focused on getting the orders right for each person. It is a plain place, but it works for what it is. We don't go in for fancy advertisements or anything like that. People know where we are if they need something cold on a hot afternoon, and we just keep the doors open and the freezers running for them.
