Scupy Ice Cream

Living and working in Ramamurthy Nagar means you get used to the heat and the dust. Down here at T C Palya in Anandapura, our little shop sits right at number 37. It is a small place, mostly just the big freezers and a few stools for whoever wants to sit down for a minute. We spend a lot of our time making sure the lids are on tight so the ice cream doesn't melt when the power goes out, which happens more than we'd like. There isn't any big story behind why we started, we just wanted a place in the neighborhood. Kids come in after school with their uniforms all messy, and that's usually our busiest time. We keep the flavors simple. Nothing too weird or experimental because that's not what people around here look for. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people still find us. It gets quiet in the afternoons when it's too hot for anyone to be walking around outside. That's when we usually sit out front and watch the bikes go by. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We don't have a big staff, just us family members taking turns behind the counter. It works for us and seems to work for the folks living nearby too. We just keep the freezer cold.
