Sai Shankar Centre For Classical

We have been here at Sai Shankar Centre For Classical for a while now. Our place is on the first floor of VSR Complex. You probably know the Federal Bank on Old Madras Road in Krishnarajapuram. We are right above it. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but once you step inside, the sounds of the city mostly fade away. I am one of the people here who helps keep things running. Usually, the afternoons are quiet until the students start arriving. Most of them come from nearby areas after their school hours are over. We have wooden floors that we try to keep clean because that is important for the practice. Sometimes the stairs are a bit of a climb if you are carrying heavy bags. The building itself is older, but it feels like home to us. We see a lot of the same faces every week. It is nice to watch kids grow up as they keep coming back year after year. The light in the evenings is quite nice when it hits the front windows. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. Just a few chairs and some space for shoes. It works for what we do. Krishnarajapuram is changing fast, with new shops opening up all the time around us. But we stay right here in our spot above the bank. It is a simple setup but it serves us well.
