S S B Fruits is right in the heart of the action at Kalasipalyam Ndraprasad Road 16. If you have ever been to this area, you know how hectic it gets. We start our day very early, usually while most people are still sleeping. The trucks arrive with crates of fruit, and we have to get everything sorted before the sun gets too high. It is a lot of heavy lifting and quick decisions. The smell of oranges and mangoes fills the air, which is one of the better parts of the job. Our shop is packed tight with boxes. There isn't much room to walk, but we have a system that works for us. We have known the other vendors on this road for years. We trade stories and sometimes help each other out when things get too busy. We do not have a marketing team or anything like that. We just sell fruit. If the quality is good, people buy it. If not, they go somewhere else. It is that simple. Sometimes we have to deal with bruises or spoilage, which is just the reality of working with fresh produce. We use old scales and write our receipts by hand most of the time. It is a traditional way of doing things, but it keeps us connected to the customers. By the time the afternoon rolls around, we are usually exhausted, but we get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
