Reshma Sweet Shop

Reshma Sweet Shop is a small place at 1760/D Rajajinagar, inside the Shyamdarshan Society in Nava Naroda. We spend most of our time in the back where the cooking happens. Every morning starts very early with the smell of sugar, ghee, and milk boiling. We make a variety of traditional sweets and snacks that we put out in the glass cases for people to see. Our shop is part of the society, so we mostly serve the families who live right here or in the nearby blocks. It is a very local business, and we know many of our customers by their first names. We don't have fancy packaging or a big brand name. Everything is made in small batches so it stays fresh for the day. Sometimes the shop gets crowded in the evenings when people are coming home from work and want to take something sweet for their kids. The space is a bit small, and it can get hot near the stoves, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a corporate strategy; we just focus on making sure the laddoos and barfis taste the way they are supposed to. It is a simple way to earn a living, and we like being the place where people come for their festival treats. If you are in Nava Naroda and see the Shyamdarshan sign, you are pretty much there. We keep things humble and just focus on the food.
