New Smitha Stores

We’re over on Huzarat Paga Road in Mathikere, right at 89/1. It’s a small shop, but we try to keep it stocked with the things people actually need every day. You know how it is, someone forgets milk or needs a bit of soap, and they pop in. We spend a lot of time just unpacking crates and putting things on the shelves. It’s not a supermarket, so everything is a bit tight and you might have to ask where something is if we moved it. We’ve been here in the neighborhood for a while, seeing the kids grow up and go to school. The morning rush is usually the busiest time when everyone is getting ready for work. We open early and stay open until things quiet down in the evening. There’s always a bit of chatter at the counter about the weather or the local news. It’s just how things go around here. Sometimes we run out of something because the delivery truck was late, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. Just the basic stuff on the racks and a cooler that hums a bit too loud in the corner. It’s our little spot in Mathikere, and we’re used to the rhythm of the street by now. We close up when the street lights come on.
