Nandini Milk Parlour

This shop is right on Laggere Main Road so there is always some noise from the traffic passing by. It is a busy spot. We open up the shutters early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. The milk delivery comes and we stack the blue and orange packets in the coolers. People stopping on their way to work or the bus stand is a common sight. They just want their milk quickly so they can go home and make breakfast. We know most of the people who live in the lanes nearby. Some of them have been coming to us for years. We carry the basic stuff like butter, milk, and buttermilk. The fridge makes a constant humming sound all day long. It is just a regular part of the background here. In the afternoons it slows down a bit and we have time to clean up or check the stock. Then it picks up again in the evening when people are heading back home. They might grab a packet of curd for dinner. The space is small and we have to keep things organized or it gets messy fast. Laggere is a crowded place but we like being right on the main road where everyone can see us. It is just a local milk parlour. Nothing more to it than that. We just work here and see the day go by.
