Naina Boutique

Naina Boutique is down in the basement of the McDonald's Building on Commercial Street. If you know where the KFC is, we are right across from it at number 132. Commercial Street is always a bit of a chaotic place with all the shoppers and the narrow lanes, so being in the basement actually gives us a little bit of quiet from the street noise. We’ve been here for quite some time now. The shop is filled with different fabrics and half-finished dresses. We spend most of our hours measuring, cutting, and talking to people about what they want to wear. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock in, but we make it work. We don't have a big fancy sign or a lot of lights. Usually, people find us by word of mouth or because they were just walking by on Commercial Street. We do our own stitching and sometimes the needles break or the thread tangles, which is frustrating, but we just start over. Our team is just a few people who enjoy working with cloth. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to make sure the clothes fit right and the customer is okay with the work. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours standing up, but it’s what we know.
