Kesariya Gujarati Fashion Boutique is located in Doddabele. We sit right opposite the Sunworth Apartment complex and are also near the R. R. Medical College in Kengeri. The shop is a bit small, but it’s packed with all sorts of colorful fabrics and finished clothes. You’ll see rolls of cloth tucked into corners and racks that are almost too full. There’s usually a sewing machine humming in the back and bits of thread all over the floor by the end of the day. We spend most of our time measuring, cutting, and talking to people who stop in to look at what we’ve made. It can get a little tight inside when more than a couple of people are looking around at the same time. We don't have those big, expensive display windows you see in malls. It’s just a regular local shop where we do our work. In the afternoons, the sun shines right through the door, which is nice because it helps us see the true colors of the thread. We’ve been in this part of Kengeri for a while and know most of the people who walk past every day. The traffic from the apartments keeps the street busy, but inside we just focus on the stitching and the patterns. It’s a lot of hands-on work, and we like the feeling of making something from scratch. It’s not a fancy place, just our little workspace.
