The Chancery

Being located at 10 Lavelle Road puts us in a pretty well-known part of Bangalore. The Chancery has been standing here for quite some time, watching the city grow taller around us. It’s a nice spot, tucked away but still close enough to where everything happens. We spend our days making sure the rooms are ready and the lobby looks decent. It isn't always perfect, sometimes a light bulb goes out or the traffic on the road gets too loud, but that is just life in this city. The staff here mostly lives nearby or takes the bus in. We have some people who have worked here for years and they know the regulars by name. It is a bit of a traditional place, not one of those ultra-modern buildings that look like they are made of glass. We like the feel of the old Bangalore here. When people check in, they usually ask about the best places to eat nearby, and we just tell them what we know. There is no script or anything, just us talking to folks. Our address on Lavelle Road is easy to find, which helps. It gets busy during the week with people in town for work, then it quietens down a bit on the weekends. We just keep things moving, making sure the morning coffee is hot and the beds are made well. It takes a lot of work to keep a place like this going, but we enjoy the company of the guests who stop by.
