Mothi Ice Cream

You can find Mothi Ice Cream over in Arekere on the Pune Nagar Road. We’re at number 14. It’s a small shop, and mostly it’s just about keeping the freezers running and the floor clean. Ice cream is a funny business because it’s so dependent on the weather. When it’s hot outside, this place gets crowded with kids and families looking for something cold. The bells on the freezers are always ringing as people open and close them to see what flavors we have left. We don't make anything too complicated. It’s just the classic stuff that everyone knows. Sometimes we have a bit of a sticky floor because a kid dropped a scoop, but we try to get to it quickly. The shop doesn't have much room for sitting, so people usually just grab their cones and head back out to the street. It’s a nice little corner. We know most of the people who live in the buildings around here. They come in after dinner for a treat. The neon sign out front flickers a little bit sometimes, and we keep meaning to get it fixed, but it still works well enough. It’s a simple life running an ice cream shop. You see a lot of happy faces, which is a nice way to spend the day. We just focus on keeping the flavors stocked and the ice cream cold for the neighborhood.
