Mother Dairy

If you find yourself near Ulsoor, you might pass by us at Liberty Garden, number 509. This is the Mother Dairy location where things start moving well before the sun is even up. The morning air is usually cool when the first trucks arrive, and there's a lot of clinking of bottles and crates hitting the floor. We don't have much of a lobby or anything, just a counter and the storage area. It stays pretty cold inside because of the refrigeration, so we usually wear sweaters even when it's hot outside. The floor is always a bit wet from the cleaning we do every few hours. People from the neighborhood stop by early to get what they need before they head to work. We know most of the regulars by face, even if we don't always know their names. It’s a fast-paced environment for about three hours in the morning, then things quiet down a lot in the afternoon. We spend that time cleaning up and getting the logs ready for the next day's delivery. Sometimes the delivery schedule gets messed up because of a truck breakdown or bad weather, and we have to scramble to get things sorted. It’s just a normal job with plenty of heavy lifting and early hours. We’ve been at this Liberty Garden spot for quite a while now and it has become a steady part of our life.
