Mora Arts & Crafts Emporium

M.G. Road is always moving fast, but inside Shrungar Shopping Center, things feel a little slower. Our emporium is tucked in there. We have a lot of arts and crafts on the shelves. It’s a mix of everything really. Some days are very busy with shoppers and other days we just sit and rearrange the displays. The lighting isn't the best in the center but we have our own lamps. We try to keep the shelves full of interesting things we find from different makers. It’s a lot of work to keep track of what’s what. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving the pottery or the metal pieces around. We’ve been here since the shopping center was much newer. Now it has that old building smell but we like it. It’s a familiar place. People who used to come as kids now bring their own kids back with them. We don't have a website that works very well, so people just call us or come by. It’s easier that way. We use a lot of bubble wrap for the fragile stuff because things get bumped easily. There’s a small stool behind the counter where I sit and read when it’s quiet. We don't try to be a big fancy store. We just want to have good things for people to see and maybe take home. It's a simple business and we like being on M.G. Road after all these years. It just works for us.
