Mellow Ice Cream

Mellow Ice Cream is a small place located at Kamagondanahalli 64. It is usually just me and the big freezers for most of the day. It gets pretty quiet in the afternoons when the sun is high. I spend a lot of my time wiping down the glass counters even if they look okay. People ask for all sorts of things but we mostly keep what we know sells. It isn't a huge shop. Sometimes the power goes out in the neighborhood and I start to worry about the stock melting. My neighbor from the shop next door usually comes in for a chat when business is moving slow. We have been here for a while now. The sign out front is a bit faded from the sun but I don't really mind. People know we are here anyway. Sometimes kids come in with handfuls of coins and it takes them forever to choose what they want. I just wait it out. It is part of the job. You see the same faces every week. Some people like the plain stuff and others want whatever new flavor we have in the bin. I just scoop it out and hand it over. It is a simple way to spend a day. The floor stays cold which is nice when it is hot outside. I sweep up at night before locking the metal shutter. It makes a loud noise. Then I walk home. Not much more to it than that. We just keep the lights on.
