Mantram Art Foundation

We are located in Indira Nagar on 28th A Cross, near Geetha Colony 173. This isn't a shop or a gallery exactly, it’s more of a place where we keep our stuff and work on projects. We’ve been in this building for a while. It’s an old house that we use for the foundation. There are paintings leaning against the walls and boxes of supplies in the hallway. Sometimes it’s a bit of a mess. People come by to talk about art or to see what we are doing. We don't have regular hours, someone is usually here in the afternoons though. We do some classes for the kids in the neighborhood when we have the time. The light in the front room is good for painting. It’s quiet on this street compared to the main roads. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one by the gate. Most people find us by asking around. We aren't trying to sell things all the time. It’s more about just having a space to create. The roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, so we have to move the canvases around. It’s just a group of us trying to keep things going. Nothing too formal or fancy about it. We just like having a spot to be creative without anyone bothering us too much. We drink a lot of tea and talk. It is a bit dusty inside, but the art is what matters most.
