Manjunatha Stores

We are tucked away behind Hotel Ashok on 8th Cross in Basaveshwara Nagar. If you know the area, you know it's a quiet little pocket compared to the main roads. Manjunatha Stores has been around for a while, serving the people who live in the nearby blocks. We sell all the usual things you’d expect from a local store. Milk, bread, snacks, and the basic household items that people run out of at the last minute. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes you have to ask us where something is because it’s hidden behind something else. We open up early because the morning rush for milk and newspapers is always the busiest time. Then it slows down a bit during the afternoon when the sun is hot. My family helps out with the counter when things get busy or when I need to step out. We don’t have a website or fancy apps, people just walk in and tell us what they need. It’s a simple way to run a business. We know most of the people who come in every day. They stop for a quick chat while they pay their bill. It feels like a small community here even though the city is so big around us. We just keep the lights on and the shelves stocked with goods as best as we can manage. We enjoy being a part of this neighborhood for so long.
